It is important for wolfdog owners and prospective owners to be
aware of the regulations that each state has in place pertaining to the
keeping of wolfdogs (and wolves). In Florida, wolfdogs are legal without any kind of
permit if they are less than 75% wolf. These mid- to low-content animals
are, then, under the control of the county animal control and/or
municipality government. Higher content wolfdogs and wolves
are governed by the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission (FFWCC).
